They were counting the days in Maryland Heights, Mo. Using the diverging diamond interchange con?guration, a ?rst in the St. Louis region, crews constructed two bridges, one at a time, in just 56 days on Missouri’s busiest section of highway. During construction of bridge one, there was just 4 ft of space between the bridge to be demolished and the adjacent temporary bridge.
