Registration is now open at www.workzonesafety.org for the 2007 National Traffic Management & Work Zone Safety Conference, scheduled Oct. 9-12 in south Florida at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention Center.

The event will connect national transportation leaders with people at all levels of government and private industry to discuss challenges and cutting-edge solutions to help improve the safe movement of traffic under many different roadway conditions. Sessions focusing on nighttime construction, preventing run-overs and back-overs, traffic flow and congestion management, law enforcement in work zones and a site visit to the Broward County Traffic Control Center are all part of the agenda.

The national conference is being sponsored by the American Road & Transportation Builders Association Transportation Development Foundation (ARTBA-TDF)-managed National Work Zone Safety Information Clearinghouse. Conference partners include: the U.S. Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), American Association of State Highway & Transportation Officials (AASHTO), American Society of Civil Engineers, CNA, Laborers' Health & Safety Fund of North America, National Asphalt Pavement Association, International Union of Operating Engineers and Texas Transportation Institute.

The National Traffic Management & Work Zone Safety Conference is also being held in conjunction with Intertraffic North America (www.northamerica.intertraffic.com) -- the world's most comprehensive and influential trade show brand for the transportation infrastructure, traffic management, traffic safety and parking industries. More than 150 exhibitors are expected to display their products.
