State, county agencies award seven bridge projects to Otak

Otak Inc., an award-winning architecture, design and engineering firm, has been chosen for seven bridge projects in southern and eastern Oregon by state and county agencies, respectively. The combined cost for the seven projects is estimated at $12.5 million.

In Eastern Oregon, the Oregon Bridge Delivery Partners chose Otak on behalf of the Oregon Department of Transportation to repair and replace bridges in Ontario. The company was awarded the work based on its performance with other state bridge projects.

In Eastern Oregon, the Oregon Bridge Delivery Partners chose Otak on behalf of the Oregon Department of Transportation to repair and replace bridges in Ontario. The company was awarded the work based on its performance with other state bridge projects. Otak will design and facilitate I-84 bridge replacement over Doman Road, I-84 bridge repair (eastbound and westbound) over the Union Pacific Railroad and design work on the Stanton Boulevard Interchange. Total project costs are estimated at $8 million. The Otak team includes Kay Van Sickel as contract manager, Dick Yano as project manager, In-Tae Lee as assistant project manager and Terry Song as roadway team leader.

In southern Oregon, the Douglas County Public Works Department chose Otak for bridge-replacement engineering on the Days Creek Bridge, Deadman Creek Bridge and Diamond Creek Bridge. Otak will oversee project management, bridge and roadway engineering, hydrologic/hydraulic investigation, construction management and inspection, utility coordination and surveying. The total project costs are $5 million. In-Tae Lee is project manager.
