Funding and environmental streamlining will share the editorial spotlight in the March issue of ROADS & BRIDGES magazine.

With the economy continuing to move at a lethargic pace, road and bridge funding at the federal, state and local level has been stalled. ROADS & BRIDGES magazine will explore the issues behind the budgetary cutbacks.

In late 2002, the U.S. DOT announced seven projects which will serve as the top candidates for environmental streamlining. ROADS & BRIDGES will provide an overview of those seven projects and will update readers on progress made by the U.S. DOT and FHWA on accelerating the environmental review process.

The March issue also will cover:

* Paving equipment;

* Drainage and erosion control; and

* Bridge maintenance.
