According to the Bay City Bridge Partners, there will be a three-week closure on the Independence Bridge in Bay City, Mich. due to ongoing construction on the structure.
The closure will begin at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 31 until Wednesday, Feb. 14.
The partners said this will allow crews to demolish, pour, and cure the east side bascule bridge deck.
The bridge had been closed earlier this month due to construction work.
On January 24th, contactors started testing new motors and controls on Independence Bridge.
Since mechanical work has been progressing quickly, the partners said they need to prepare for traffic to switch to west side lanes.
Work on the new motors and controls is expected to be completed Friday.
