In adapting a “clean-sheet” approach, Volvo Construction Equipment has designed, built, tested and introduced the new seven-model Volvo G900 family of motor graders. Built on two distinct but integrated platforms, there are seven models, including two all-wheel-drive machines. Fitted with either a Volvo D7 or Volvo D9 engine, the Volvo G900 product lineup is designed to combine the attributes of productivity, ease of operation, reliability and ease of service.

Fitted with either a Volvo D7 or Volvo D9 engine, the Volvo G900 product lineup is designed to combine the attributes of productivity, ease of operation, reliability and ease of service.

The seven new models include the Volvo G930, G940, G946, G960, G970, G976 and the G990. The first four models were engineered with the 7.2-liter Volvo D7 engine. The larger three use the 9.4-liter Volvo D9 engine. Each Volvo G900 motor grader features EU Stage IIIA and U.S. Tier 3-compliant Volvo engines utilizing Volvo advanced combustion technology. Wide-stance, blade-lift cylinders—coupled with the low-angle, side-shift cylinder—provide a stable grading platform. Proportional demand flow, intelligent load-sensing hydraulics and a powerful twin-gear, direct-drive circle turn system results in a precise, instantly responsive earthmoving tool.
