Komatsu America Corp., Vernon Hills, Ill., recently won three contracts with the U.S. government for the supply of equipment that could be used for road construction. The government purchased 16 dozers, 32 excavators and 10 skid steers from Komatsu. The contracts are valued at $21.5 million. In other news from Komatsu, production of the company’s 30-40-ton articulated truck line has moved from Mooka, Japan, to Chattanooga, Tenn.

Joining production of Komatsu’s mid-size excavator line at the Chattanooga facility are the HM300-1, HM350-1 and HM400-1 articulated trucks sed in earthmoving, road construction and quarry applications.
