Daniel Hickey
Manager of Global Government Relations, 3M Transportation Safety Division
Dan Hickey leads Global Government Relationsfor the Transportation Safety Division of the3M Company. Prior to joining 3M, Mr. Hickeyopened a Washington, DC office for Federal Signal Corporation and served as aProfessional Staff Member for the United States House of RepresentativesCommittee on Transportation and Infrastructure.
Dan also was Deputy Assistant Secretary forGovernmental Affairs at the US Department ofTransportation. Before his work in the Officeof the Secretary, Mr. Hickey was Deputy AssistantAdministrator for Government and IndustryAffairs at the Federal Aviation Administration(FAA). He also served as a LegislativeAssistant in the United States Senate. Hickey serves on the Executive Committeeof the International Road Federation (IRF), a leading global road safetyorganization. In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors of the AmericanRoad & Transportation Builders (ARTBA);and Mentor Foundation USA, a non-profit dedicatedto youth drug abuse prevention andempowerment. Mr. Hickey earned his B.A. in English from Boston College.
Greg Cohen
President, 2349 Solutions
Greg Cohen leads 2349 Solutions, a transportationgovernment affairs consultancy and the Roadway Safety Foundation, acharitable/educational organization focused on helping communities improve thesafety of their roads and roadsides. From 2002 until 2019, Greg also served asthe President and CEO of the American Highway Users Alliance, which representsinterests of motorists, truckers, bus drivers, and a wide variety of businessesthat pay into the Highway Trust Fund.
Greg previously served as a professional staffmember of the House Transportation andInfrastructure Committee, where he wasresponsible for oversight of the Federal HighwayAdministration’s implementation of the 1998highway bill, TEA-21. As a licensedProfessional Engineer, Greg’s primary role onthe Committee was to provide policyassistance in areas of highway planning,engineering, and construction. He workedon legislation to eliminate highway fundingcuts and streamline planning andenvironmental reviews and coordinatedoversight hearings that laid the policygroundwork for the 2005 highway bill,SAFETEA-LU.
Before joining the Committee, Greg served as aHighway Engineer and Planner withthe Maryland State Highway Administrationwhere he managed capital project planningstudies for major highway and multimodalprojects. He earned a Bachelors of Science inCivil Engineering and Master of Engineering inTransportation Engineering and Planningfrom the University of Maryland at CollegePark.
