Safway Services Inc. of Waukesha, Wis., announced it has signed a contract with the Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District to provide its QuikDeck suspended access system for the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. The system will be used by bridge workers to perform various ongoing maintenance tasks on the famed span.
The QuikDeck access system is a suspended modular platform decking system used in bridge construction and repair, shipyards, offshore rigs, atriums, temporary stages and other such uses.
The system offers ease of installation, workload capacity and a safe and stable platform. The QuikDeck system also provides full containment for cleaning and painting, a requirement of environment and air quality regulations.
"As Safway's newest division, we are very pleased to have been selected to provide our QuikDeck suspended platform to the Golden Gate Bridge District," said Larry Mickwee, Safway bridge division vice president and general manager. "We feel that our participation in this exciting and important project on one of our country's most recognized landmarks will allow us to demonstrate the quality of our product and our experience in engineering, design and training services."
