The city of Stockton has awarded a contract to Parsons Brinckerhoff to provide construction management services for improvements to Rte. 99.

The project entails widening Rte. 99 from four to six lanes from Rte. 4 to the Hammer Lane Interchange. The job is approximately five miles. It will add auxiliary lanes between Wilson Way and Hammer Lane and modify interchanges at Fremont Street, Waterloo Road, Cherokee Road and the Calaveras River overcrossing.

Other project elements involve the reconstruction of the Hammer Lane/Rte. 99 interchange, including the reconstruction of ramps and overcrossings, the signalization of ramp intersections and the relocation of frontage roads in all quadrants except the southeast quadrant.

As construction manager, PB will be responsible for providing full construction management services, including contract administration, project documentation, inspection and management of materials testing and surveying subconsultants.

The project is expected to last 30 months, with completion scheduled for July 2007 and an estimated cost of $57.5 million.
