Gov. Kathleen Blanco has appointed Johnny Bradberry as the new secretary of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development to replace Dr. Kam Movassaghi, who resigned and left the office today (April 1).
Bradberry spent the last 30 years with ConocoPhillips Co. in Houston, most recently serving as an operations manager in exploration and production along the Gulf Coast of Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
During his time with ConocoPhillips, Bradberry held the following positions: director of engineering recruiting, North American operations coordinator, division engineering manager, manager of business development, asset manager/acting vice president of operations for Dubai Petroleum Co. and Gulf Coast asset manager and extraction manager.
The governor's office said Bradberry is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the American Petroleum Institute, served on the executive subcommittee of the Offshore Operations Committee and is on the industry advisory council of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette's Petroleum Engineering Department.
