Goran Lindgren has been appointed vice president, customer support, for Volvo Construction Equipment North America Inc., Asheville, N.C., the sales, marketing and product support subsidiary of Volvo Construction Equipment, Brussels, Belgium.
Lindgren has had global responsibility for Volvo CE Parts and Service Support since 1999 when he became a member of the Volvo CE Customer Support Business Area Team. He will continue serving on that team from his new position with Volvo Construction Equipment North America.
Lindgren began his business career with Volvo CE in Canada in the late 1970s with one of the company's dealers, Percival Machinery in Edmonton. In 1985, he moved to the Volvo CE training center in Eskilstuna, Sweden. When Michigan and Euclid merged with Volvo, Lindgren joined Michigan in the product support and training business area with responsibility for Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Far East.
In 1991, he became a member of the Volvo CE Sales Company in Germany, and in 1993 returned to Sweden as manager of technical support and training for Volvo Articulated Haulers. Lindgren was appointed in 1998 to the position of service manager for Volvo CE in Singapore.
