Pettibone adds Bracing Systems Inc. to dealer network
May 8, 2019—Pettibone/Traverse Lift LLC announces the addition of Bracing Systems Inc. to its dealer network. With locations in Hanover Park and Mokena, Illinois, Bracing Systems will primarily focus on sales and service of Traverse telehandlers for northern Illinois and a portion of northwest Indiana. Bracing Systems Inc. was founded in 1972 when a group of masonry contractors including John and Bob Williams launched their own supply business, spurred by their invention of a bracing pole for free-standing masonry walls. The company has since grown to become a one-stop shop for masons and concrete contractors through both new equipment sales and a rental fleet. In taking on the Pettibone Traverse, Bracing Systems now offers the industry’s only new telehandler product line with a traversing boom carriage, which allows operators to safely place loads at full lift height without needing to coordinate multiple boom functions.
AECOM’s team selected as one of three finalists in the ACE/CIRT National Design Competition
May 15, 2019—A team of New York City students, mentored by senior leaders at AECOM, won second place in the ACE/CIRT National Design Competition in Washington D.C. the week of May 15. The team worked with AECOM to design a congestion relief plan for 34th Street in Manhattan which called for installation of new a light-rail system. They say the plan would cut travel times across this busy corridor in half. The team—known as ACE Team 30—was one of three across the country to present plans before a panel of judges in the final round of the competition. The ACE Mentorship Program, which helps high school students prepare for careers in design and construction, pairs teams of students with mentoring firms to meet with throughout the year at the firm’s offices as the students plan and design projects. The design competition is judged by the Construction Industry Round Table. This year’s competition invited affiliate teams from across the country to design solutions for one of three challenges: a playground or playscape, alleviate urban transportation, and a community health clinic. AECOM partners with nonprofits and school districts across the U.S. to expose students to the STEM fields.
Electronic Transaction Consultants reaches Final System Acceptance in Back-Office System (BOS) upgrade for the Harris County Toll Road Authority
May 15, 2019—In a significant project to bring new back-office solutions to the Harris County Toll Road Authority (HCTRA) in Texas, Electronic Transaction Consultants Corporation (ETC) achieved Final System Acceptance for the riteHorizon system upgrade. HCTRA certified the enterprise-level back-office toll collection system, known as riteHorizon, as complete on August 31, 2018. This dynamic and comprehensive system leads the industry in back-office tolling collection technology. Since go-live, riteHorizon has processed over 1.45 billion transactions, 44,000 daily payments, and 12,000 daily invoices, representing over $1.3 billion in revenue to HCTRA. riteHorizon is a comprehensive platform of modules designed to address the specific features of the tolling applications as well as ERP-level reporting and auditability of any entity having to deal with financials and reconciliations. The platform is designed to easily integrate new modules. Apart from providing unified account management and other traditional tolling functions, riteHorizon introduces new features such as new CRM, Payment Plan Management, Treasury Module, Reconciliation Module, real-time Accounting, Inventory and Logistic Management.
Minnich Manufacturing owner Jim Minnich retires, next generation to lead family company

May 14, 2019—Minnich Manufacturing, the leading manufacturer of concrete vibrators, vibrator monitoring systems, and concrete dowel pin drills, announced today that owner Jim Minnich has retired after more than 25 distinguished years with the company. Jim Minnich led an era of innovation and expansion at Minnich Manufacturing, the business his father started out of a Mansfield, Ohio, gas station in 1968. Under Jim’s ownership, Minnich Manufacturing introduced several innovative technologies, grew to more than 40 employees, and moved into a larger manufacturing facility in Mansfield — all with an unwavering focus on meeting customer needs. As planned for years, three family partners will lead Minnich Manufacturing into a bright future: Todd Jurjevic (President/Chief Sales Officer), Jeff McDaniel (President/Chief Operating Officer) and Rob Minnich (President/Chief Marketing Officer). Jurjevic and McDaniel are Jim Minnich’s sons-in-law; Rob Minnich is Jim’s son.
