HNTB Corp. announced today that it has entered into an agreement to purchase the stock of Florida-based TEI Engineers & Planners Inc. in an acquisition set to be final July 1.

TEI's engineering and operations analysis, traffic signal systems, planning and environmental studies, highway design and ITS services will complement HNTB's comprehensive transportation engineering and design capabilities.

"We are excited to join the strengths of both organizations to bring unmatched services to our clients," said Ken Graham, P.E., HNTB president. "Both of our firms have a strong commitment to client service and a demonstrated ability to deliver exactly what clients need. TEI's intelligent transportation systems expertise will be especially valued by our clients nationwide."

"Our firms have worked together successfully on joint projects, so we already know that our two firms make a good team," said David Gwynn Jr., TEI founder.

Gwynn and TEI Co-founder Andres E. Nunez will join HNTB as vice presidents. Gwynn will manage the combined Orlando offices. TEI's more than 110 professionals will join HNTB's more than 2,700 employees nationally.
