Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB), Watertown, Mass., has acquired Austin, Texas-based Fortress Inc., a management consulting firm specializing in emergency preparedness. Albert Samano will join VHB as director of transportation security to direct and launch VHB’s new security-related services practice.

Gary Bomstad has been named the first-ever director of new product development at Stellar Industries Inc., Garner, Iowa.

Topcon Corp., has signed a letter of agreement with Komatsu Ltd. that will allow new Komatsu motor graders and bulldozers to be purchased with a Topcon automated machine control system as factory-installed, standard equipment.

Lynne Woodworth has been named president and chief executive officer at Stone Construction Equipment Inc., Honeoye, N.Y.
