Headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, and guided by third generation leadership, the core group of Beam, Longest and Neff LLC (BLN) partners and associates strive to excel as leaders within the engineering community. Nationally, BLN is recognized for their quality of work on large projects. They have been instrumental in the Louisville-Southern Indiana Ohio River Bridges Project, the largest transportation project ever undertaken by both the States of Indiana and Kentucky – currently the 3rd largest federally funded project in the United States. Locally, BLN is regarded by Local Public Agencies as a firm that cares about how projects impact their residents and businesses, and for maintaining their established vision for the community. BLN is proud of their progress, but are more pleased by the quality of service provided and the reputation established and maintained. Pictured is Indiana State Road 66 at Green River Road in Evansville, Ind. This interchange modification project was designed to reduce traffic congestion. The project consisted of reconstructing the existing urban diamond interchange to provide a single point urban interchange at SR 66 and Green River Road. The construction included raising the grade of the SR 66 roadway approximately 3 feet, partial reconstruction and widening of the existing ramps, constructing a new 3 span bridge, vertical extension of the existing Mechanically Stabilized Earth Walls (MSE Walls), and constructing additional turn lanes on Green River Road. The bridge structure carrying SR 66 over Green River Road is approximately 318 feet long and utilizes post tensioning to reduce construction depth. The interior supports consist of integral post-tensioned concrete straddle bents.
