If current usage trends continue, the "ConstructMyFuture" website may be reporting a traffic jam instead of just increased traffic.

A new report shows that the site, which provides information about careers in the construction industry, reached almost 91,000 students, teachers, counselors and parents in only its second year of operation--twice the number of visitors than in its inaugural year.

The site opened in May 2001, the result of a joint project by the Associated Equipment Distributors Foundation, the Association of Equipment Manufacturers and the Associated General Contractors of America. The three organizations recognized that high school and college students rarely hear about career opportunities in construction or the construction equipment business.

In January, more than 11,000 people visited the website. The monthly average since then has been 9,300.

Another reason for the increased traffic is the annual scholarship offered to ConstructMyFuture.com visitors. More than 80 students applied for the most recent scholarship.
