ROADS/BRIDGES: Democratic presidential hopefuls call for improving U.S. infrastructure

Jan. 18, 2016

All three Democratic presidential candidates called for improving the nation's crumbling infrastructure

In between verbal disputes over how they would lead the U.S. as president, all three Democratic candidates seemed to agree on one thing: improved infrastructure.

Hillary Clinton said, "We need more jobs and we need good jobs. So, why don't we invest more in infrastructure?"  She vowed to work quickly to create more jobs, specifically in infrastructure, and clean and renewable energy.

Similarly, Bernie Sanders wants to create 13 million "decent-paying" jobs "by rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure.”

And, Martin O'Malley wants "a new agenda for America cities that will invest in the talents and skills in our people, that will invest in ... infrastructure and transit options."
