Kubota names new president & CEO for Kubota Tractor Corp. and Kubota North America
Dec. 11, 2018—Kubota Tractor Corp. announced the appointment of Mr. Haruyuki (Harry) Yoshida as the new President and CEO of Kubota Tractor Corp. (KTC) and Kubota North America, based in Grapevine, Texas, effective January 1, 2019. Mr. Yoshida is a 37-year Kubota veteran who most recently held the position of managing executive officer GM of farm and industrial machinery domain, strategy and operations headquarters in Osaka, Japan, and has previously spent time in the U.S. in various roles. In conjunction with this announcement, current president and CEO Mr. Masato Yoshikawa has been promoted to the position of director and senior managing executive officer, GM of planning and control headquarters, GM of global IT management, and will assume his new role in Osaka, Japan, at the start of the new year.
2019 Economic Outlook forecasts 4.1% expansion in equipment and software investment and 2.3% GDP growth
Dec. 11, 2018—Investment in equipment and software is projected to expand 4.1% in 2019 according to the 2019 Equipment Leasing & Finance U.S. Economic Outlook released today by the Equipment Leasing & Finance Foundation. Equipment and software investment increased at a robust rate in the first half of 2018, driven by more preferable tax treatment and a general upswing in the U.S. economy. However, growth slowed in the third quarter, and recent data point to a continuation of this trend, providing a weak jumping off point for 2019. The economy remains generally healthy, yet the strong growth achieved in Q2 and Q3 is unlikely to be repeated in 2019 as headwinds build.

ITS America elects new officers, board members
Dec. 5, 2018—The Intelligent Transportation Society (ITS) of America’s Board of Directors approved the election of three officers and 12 new members at its meeting here today. The ITS America Board is made up of leaders in the intelligent transportation industry, who set policy and direct strategies for the association. The newly elected board members represent a diverse group of senior-level executives from private companies, public agencies and academia.
