BKT announces construction of new production site in U.S.
Nov. 8, 2018—Balkrishna Industries Limited (BKT), one of the leading off-highway tire manufacturers headquartered in India, recently announced a $100 million construction project for a new production site to serve not only the U.S. markets but the entire American region. This new production site will be the multinational group’s first manufacturing site outside of India. The Americas are becoming an increasingly interesting and expanding market. The more than positive outlook led to the decision of establishing a new wholly owned subsidiary company in the U.S. to set up a greenfield project for the construction of a new tire manufacturing plant in the U.S. designed for a yearly production capacity of about 20,000 MT in the entire off-highway tire segment. Target markets are both the replacement market and OEMs in the U.S. The remaining tire demand will still be catered for directly from India.
CASE, Luby Equipment support Team Rubicon in training/prairie mitigation project
Nov. 6, 2018—CASE Construction Equipment, and heavy equipment dealer Luby Equipment, provided training support and donated the use of skid steers, compact track loaders and excavators to Team Rubicon for a combination training/service project in Van Buren County, Iowa. “Operation Forgotten Villages” performed prairie mitigation and long-term trail recovery work in Bentonsport, Iowa, designed to remove invasive growth and return the prairie to native grasses in support of local wildlife. Team Rubicon volunteers cleared 14 acres of trees, and more than 20,000 cu ft of invasive vegetation, to return the prairie back to its natural state. The effort is estimated to have saved the local community more than $60,000, and gave Team Rubicon heavy equipment operators valuable stick time to train for disasters, such as Hurricane Florence and Hurricane Michael.
Matthew J. Jeanneret Named ARTBA executive vice president & chief operating officer
Nov. 2, 2018—Matthew J. Jeanneret has been named executive vice president and chief operating officer of the Washington, D.C.-based American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA), effective Nov. 1. Jeanneret, who joined ARTBA in 1998 as director of public affairs, has been serving as the association’s deputy chief operating officer since January. As ARTBA’s senior vice president of communications and marketing over the past decade, he led its award-winning external communications initiatives aimed at building political support for increased transportation infrastructure investment in the past four federal highway and transit program authorization laws.
Terex Materials Processing shares third quarter 2018 results
Nov. 1, 2018—Following Terex Corp.’s release of its third quarter 2018 results, Terex Materials Processing (MP) is pleased to share these, along with its segment-specific, results. Terex Corp. reported third quarter 2018 sales of $1.2 billion, up 11% versus Q3 of 2017, with increased sales and backlog in its AWP and MP business segments. The results were driven by continued implementation of the company’s Execute to Win business strategy and its focus on meeting the growing needs of customers during a period of broad-based growth. The Terex Materials Processing segment delivered excellent performance across its portfolio of businesses with sales of $295 million that were 14% higher than last year.
The PENJERDEL Council gives PennDOT’s I-95 Reconstruction Project the Green Vision Award
Nov. 1, 2018—The PENJERDEL Council is pleased to announce that PennDOT’s I-95 Reconstruction Project will be given the Green Vision Award at the organization’s 63rd annual awards luncheon. The university will be given the award at the event on Nov. 13 at Citizen’s Bank Park alongside former NFL Coach Dick Vermeil and the University of Delaware, who are being recognized as Citizen of the Year and the Academic Institution of the Year, respectively. The I-95 Corridor Reconstruction is being developed with a number of features that are intended to respect the needs and potential of the Philadelphia neighborhoods alongside the interstate, as well as the natural environment.
