Waymo, the division of Google concerned with autonomous vehicle development, announced this week that it will introduce its testing program to the city of Atlanta, Ga.
While details at present remain sparse, the Alphabet-owned division began mapping city roads last week in advance of eventually getting wheels on the ground.
Waymo is expected to use Chrysler Pacifica vans in the program. The company is testing autonomous vehicles in 24 other cities and plans to deploy its cars for ride-hailing in Arizona later this year.
As for when Hotlanta can expect to catch a ride in a driverless car, that remains up in the air.
