Bridges in urban areas of most states and Canada use side-railing design options developed and safely crash-tested by the Texas DOT. These classic designs enhance the aesthetics of bridge appearance and have been adopted because they have already been certified for urban use. They are available in two different heights and three different designs. The bridge window designs also can be modified slightly to meet state or local regulations. The disposable, single-use blockouts used to form the bridge windows are made to order and shipped within a week.
