Agenda items include roadway safety funding in Illinois, a discussion on expanding National Work Zone Awareness Week locally throughout the year and seeking ways to incorporate ATSSA’s new video, “In The Zone,” into local driver education curriculum. The new video is hosted by NASCAR driver Todd Bodine and is aimed directly at teen drivers to make them aware of the hazards associated with roadway work zones. SPRING INTO TECH: IBTTA will host its 11th Annual Spring Technology Workshop, titled “The State of ETC—Technology, Process and Change,” on June 13-15 at Loews Miami Beach, Fla. Practitioners from around the world gather to share information, experiences, lessons learned and the latest perspectives on what is happening in the toll industry. This year’s workshop focuses on the study of AVI, AVC, VES and VPS and takes the best practices of operators in these areas and captures it, then applies it to the last session: “The Future of Toll Collection.” Via an exchange of ideas with delegates, panelists will create a blueprint for the model toll road of today and tomorrow. Delegates will be able to take this knowledge and advance the practice of tolling on their facilities. For more information, contact Tim McGuckin at 202/659-4620.
