U.S. Highway 287 to see construction impacts throughout June

June 10, 2022
Expect delays all throughout June

Drivers on U.S. Highway 287 between Laporte and Ted's Place will be impacted the rest of June as crews work to replace crumbling concrete sections of the highway that sees heavy summer traffic.

The work will take place only during weekdays and only impact southbound traffic, according to a Colorado Department of Transportation (CODOT) news release.

U.S. 287 sees increased travel in summer from people heading up the Poudre Canyon on Colorado Highway 14 at Ted's Place as well travel to Laramie, Wyoming.

Starting 6 a.m. June 13, southbound traffic on U.S. 287 will be detoured onto Larimer County Road 54G through Laporte until rejoining U.S. 287 just east of North Taft Hill Road.

U.S. 287 will reopen to southbound traffic at 8 a.m. June 17.

The same closure will take place at 6 a.m. June 20 with U.S. 287 reopening at 8 a.m. June 24.

From June 27-30, southbound traffic will be reduced to a single lane with alternating lane closures.

Northbound U.S. 287 traffic will not be impacted.

When completed, the work will create a smoother highway and improve intersection safety for vehicles, bicyclists, and pedestrians, replacing the crumbling road.
